Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. In my last post I talked about watercolor backgrounds with Distress Inks. Today I have another card for you made with one of those backgrounds. I recently got the Happy Hippos set from My Favorite Things and it is so adorable. They are great for birthdays or other celebrations and would make some really cute spring cards as well.
For the background on this one I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron Distress Inks on Canson watercolor paper. I love that these inks react so well with water and blend together to create beautiful colors. I colored my images with Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next I used my stitched circle dies to cut a window in the back ground piece. I also used to of the dides to create a frame one size large than the window. I used foam tape to adhere the entire background piece to the front of an A2 sized card. Originally I had planned to have the center remain white, but as I put it together I just wasn't happy with the look.So I popped the center piece back in and adhered it without foam tape so it still had some dimension to it. I glued down the frame I created around the window area and positioned my images on the card. I then added my little hippos and their accessories and stamped my sentiment in the lower right corner. To finish off the card I added some Nuvo Drops. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! XO ~ Amy
