Hello! Hope you've had a good week so far. Today I have a quick post featuring the new Simon Says Stamp Fractile Leaves set. This set is so gorgeous and I can see myself using it for other seasons as well. The 3 leaf image I used would also make a beautiful winter card and the smaller leaves would look great as trees on a background.
For this card I knew I wanted to use some of the leaves almost as a border and have a blank space in the middle for the sentiment. I chose the 3 leaf image and decided on doing opposite corners. I used my Misti to stamp the image on watercolor paper and then flipped the paper 180 degrees and stamped it on the opposite side. Then I heat embossed the images in gold embossing powder. I repeated this step two more times and used copper and platinum embossing powders. I then used my Daniel Smith watercolor dot sheets to add color. I used minimal water to get the colors in the leaves more saturated and then I went back in with a clean wet brush to bleed the color out onto the background.
To finish it off I heat embossed a sentiment from Simon's Sending Happy Thoughts set with black embossing powder and added Nuvo Drops. I trimmed the image to slightly smaller than A2 and adhered it to a kraft card base. All these watercolors seem to be helping my perfectionist side loosen up a bit. Let me know what you'd llike to see next on the blog and if you haven't already make sure to subscribe so you don't miss a post.I hope you have a great rest of your week and we'll see you again soon.
