No Line Watercolor Floral Frame

November 16, 2017

Today I have a quick post for my first attempt at no line watercolors. For this card I used Avery Elle's Floral Frame stamp set and My Favorite Things Written in Watercolor sentiment set. I love the Floral Frame set and the Canopy set from Avery Elle. The flowers are beautiful and there are so many options for them. For this card I used my Mini Misti to stamp my images on Canson Watercolor Paper. The Misti is great for watercolor paper because it is so textured and you often do not get a good impression on your first try. I use Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige ink to stamp the image in one corner. I then rotated my paper 180 degrees and stamped the opposite corner. The Barely Beige ink is great for this technique because it is such a light color. I've also seen Antique Linen Distress Ink used for this technique.

I used my ZIg Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush to layer on colors and fill in my image. I made sure to give each layer time to dry before adding on the next one so that my colors would not bleed together. Next I stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink using my Mini Misti. I like to stamp anything I'm going to heat emboss on watercolor paper 2 or 3 times to make sure that I get a really good impression and that there is enough ink to hold on to the embossing powder. I used Wow! gold embossing powder to heat emboss the "thanks so much" and then trimmed my paper to slightly smaller than A2. I adhered it to the front of an A2 size kraft card base and it was ready to go.

I really like the look of no line watercolor. It gives the images a more organic feel with out all the harsh lines. Have you tried this technique? Leave me a comment and let me know your favorite products to use for no line watercolor. See you again soon! XO ~ Amy
